On Thursday 23rd March Pharmacist Support held its very first Hero Awards. The event, hosted by Charity Chair Professor Peter Noyce and Chief Executive Diane Leicester-Hallam, saw the charity present 10 awards to individuals, groups and organisations who supported us in our 175th anniversary year. Recipient of the Pharmacy School Hero Award was Robert Gordon University. As staff and students were unable to join us on the night, Diane traveled up to Scotland to present the Award in person.
Most funds raised by a Pharmacy School in Great Britain.
“In 2016 we connected with Pharmacy schools across GB to increase awareness of our support. But last year the most active of all our GB pharmacy schools were up in Scotland! The team at Strathclyde held a 175 mile static bike ride, but there was one university in particular that raised the most funds. They joined in our 175th Anniversary celebrations; they held a St Patricks Day pub crawl and fully embraced our Go Green fundraiser. The recipient of our Pharmacy School Hero Award is Robert Gordon University.”
Ruth Edwards, Senior Lecturer & MPharm course leader at RGU had this to say –“We are so proud of our MPharm students for raising funds for Pharmacist Support and supporting the amazing work of the charity. Winning this award reflects how engaged our students are with the wider profession and their enthusiasm for the world outside of their studies.”
