Telling people about your Pharmacist Support fundraising event or activity is one of the most important things you can do to drum up support and ultimately, donations! On this page you’ll find lots of suggestions to help you promote your fundraiser.
Make the most of your networks
Many pharmacists and pharmacy teams have access to a huge network of fellow pharmacists and healthcare professionals … as well as employers, membership organisations and tutors. These professional networks understand the pressures of working and studying in pharmacy, and could be a very fruitful resource to tap into for donations. Your employer may even have a scheme for matching (or doubling!) charity donations, so it’s always worth the ask. Don’t forget your patients and local communities, and family and friends too. However you decide to fundraise, be sure to tell people about what you are doing, when and for which cause. You’ll be amazed how generous people can be when you’re passionate about why you are raising funds for the profession’s charity. You could also highlight the personal benefits of giving to others to encourage more support.
Set up your online fundraising page
Once you’ve decided on your fundraising activity, you will need to decide how you want to collect the donations and send it to the charity. If this is online (a very simple and easy way to do this), then you’ll need to set up your own online fundraising page. Showcase the people who your fundraiser will help
Stories can be the most powerful tool for galvanising support and inspiring people to donate. They show the impact first-hand of who you’re fundraising for and why it’s so important. Spread the word on social media
Keep your supporters updated on your progress, from the time you start preparing your fundraiser to the day you hand in your donations.
