Hero Profile: Humayun Ahmed

Humayun is a 2nd year pharmacy student at Brighton University.  He’s very active and loves to watch and play sports such as football, badminton and squash.  He’s also learning to play the Ukulele because he’s always wanted to master an instrument!  Here he tells us why he is taking on the epic challenge of running the Brighton Marathon to raise money for Pharmacist Support!

Why did you decide to become a Pharmacist Support Fundraising Hero?

I like to stay on my feet and raise awareness and money for charity.  So, running a marathon and supporting a fantastic cause such as Pharmacist Support was perfect for me – like killing two birds with one stone.  I strongly believe in what Pharmacist Support does and how it helps.  As a future pharmacist, I may need the services of Pharmacist Support myself, so I want to help make sure they are still around by raising money!

What hero fundraising activities did you do/have you got planned?

I am running the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 15th April 2018.  I am planning lots of fundraising to reach my target such as bake sales.

Why is the charity important to you?

As I am studying to become a pharmacist, this organisation means a lot to me, as it specifically aids pharmacists who are struggling financially or mentally.  Also I have friends and family who are studying to become pharmacists as well and sometimes, I myself may not be able to help them, but Pharmacist Support can.

Why do you think others should join the Pharmacist Support Fundraising Hero Team?

I think all pharmacists should get involved as this organisation is for us!  I hope Pharmacist Support will be there for me and any other pharmacists when in need so pharmacists should be there for Pharmacist Support, and help raise money!
