We did it! After lots of training (well at least for some of us) we finally took to the road on 7th December in our Santa suits!
48 runners signed up in total for Santa runs in Manchester and London, amongst whom were pharmacists, Pharmacist Support staff and a Trustee along with a large group of staff and students from the Manchester School of Pharmacy. A certain charity penguin (Harold – the office mascot!) managed to sneak in on the action too!
It was great to see so many people on the start line running for Pharmacist Support and that enthusiasm continued online with plenty of Twitter activity as well as publicity! Some of the green runners were featured on Sky Sports and we also made it onto the Manchester Evening News website. Check out the video and photos on their website.
So far over £1,000 in donations has come in from runners across the country. We would like to thank all of those involved for taking part in this challenge, all of our donors for making this worthwhile and then of course our sponsors for providing goodie bags for the run in Manchester. So a big shout out to Nova Laboratories Ltd, Reckitt Benckiser, Vitabiotics, My Trusty, Rocktape UK, Kellogg’s UK and Weleda (UK) Ltd.
