Privacy policy for supporters

We are committed to protecting the privacy of our supporters (fundraisers, donors and e-news subscribers). This page details our privacy policy for those who support our charity.

Pharmacist Support Privacy Policy for supporters.

The data controller processing your personal data is Pharmacist Support. We are registered as a data controller with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Our notification number is Z9737277 and we are committed to ensuring that the personal data we process is handled in accordance with data protection legislation (the General Data Protection Regulation and UK Data Protection Act 2018). 

Our Finance Manager is the Data Protection Lead and can be contacted via finance@pharmacistsupport.org 

Unless otherwise stated, Pharmacist Support is the data controller for the information we collect.  

The information you provide will be held securely by us and/or our data processors whether the information is in electronic or physical format. 

By interacting with us on social media, via our e-newsletters, at an event or any other marketing activity, you give permission for us to use your data for our charity’s marketing purposes.

We do not share data with anyone else without your permission. We will not share any of the information you provide with any third parties for marketing purposes.   

We require all third parties who provide services for us and who process the data of our service users, charity contacts and supporters to comply fully with data protection legislation.  

Data is kept in accordance with our retention schedules as set out in the appropriate sections of this notice. 

This privacy notice tells you what to expect when Pharmacist Support collects personal information.  

People who sign up to our e-newsletters 

We only send e-newsletters to people who have opted in to receive them. We have to hold the details of these people in order to provide the service. Subscribers can unsubscribe at any time and are given an easy way of doing this.    

We use a third party provider to deliver our e-newsletters. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter.  

  How to unsubscribe 

An individual who wishes to opt out of receiving one of our e-newsletters can use the link in that newsletter or can email us at:-marketing@pharmacistsupport.orgor telephone us on 0808 168 2233. 

We will remove them from our circulation list straightaway. 

Visitors to our website 

When someone visits www.pharmacistsupport.org we use third party services, such as Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor demographic and behaviour patterns, but only in instances where cookies are accepted. We do this to understand the website user journey, which helps us tailor our services to the needs of our stakeholders. Further information on Google’s data privacy and security information, along with information on how to opt out of website cookies is available on the Google website.  

People who complete one of our feedback surveys 

We use a third party tool, Survey Monkey, to seek feedback from supporters about their experience with the charity.  We use this information to monitor the quality of our activities and to provide people with the opportunity to give us their feedback and suggestions on developments and improvements. We will use the information only in ways that will not identify anyone. Respondents are given the option of providing their contact details via a separate survey if they wish to subscribe to e-news, provide a case study or would like the charity to contact them regarding some feedback they have given.  Contact details will only be used for the purpose stated. 

People who contact us via social media 

We use a third party provider to manage our social media interactions.If you send us a private or direct message via social media the message will be stored on the social media platform. We will not share this information with any other organisations. 

People who donate to us 

We will contact donors who provide their contact details either directly to us or via a third party platform to acknowledge the donation and express our thanks. This contact will include an invitation to opt-in to further specified information from the charity. Thereafter, we will only send information to people who have opted in to receive it. We only use these details to provide the agreed information.  See How to Unsubscribe above. We do not hold any card payment or bank details of donors. 

People who have pledged a legacy 

Where a person has pledged a legacy to the charity, this will be recorded and the data held securely, for future reference. 

Data retention 

To allow us to map our supporter journeys, we will keep your data indefinitely unless you wish us not to. See What rights do you have in the way that we protect your data? below. 

What rights do you have in the way that we protect your data? 

As a data subject, you have a number of rights. You can: 

  • Ask us to confirm that your personal data is being processed and to access (i.e. have a copy) of that data as well as to be provided with supplemental information about the processing (by making a subject access request) 
  • Require us to change incorrect or incomplete data 
  • Require us to delete or stop processing your data, for example where the data is no longer necessary for the purposes of processing 
  • Object to the processing of your data where we rely on our legitimate interests as the legal ground for processing 
  • Receive from us the personal data we hold about you which you have provided to us in a reasonable format specified by you, including for the purpose of you transmitting that data to another data controller 
  • Ask us to stop processing data for a period if data is inaccurate or there is a dispute about whether or not your interests override Pharmacist Support’s legitimate grounds for processing data 
  • Withdraw your consent for us to process any supplementary data held with your specific consent.
