On Thursday 23rd March Pharmacist Support held its very first Hero Awards. The event, hosted by Charity Chair Professor Peter Noyce and Chief Executive Diane Leicester-Hallam, saw the charity present 10 awards to individuals, groups and organisations who supported us in our 175th anniversary year. The Fundraising Group Award was presented on the night by Diane.
Most creative fundraising activities across the year.
“The BPSA as a group really embraced the 175 Hero theme. At their Annual Conference last year in Cardiff, they hosted a charity auction where they auctioned off a 133 year old copy of the PJ, they bejewelled objects for cash, hosted charity information stands and wellbeing workshops and joined the charity’s Manchester Santa 5K run raising a fantastic £2500.”
BPSA President Amit Parekh had this to say – “The BPSA are honoured to have received an award at the Pharmacist Support Awards Evening. The work Pharmacist Support does to support pre-registration trainees and pharmacy students is something which we hold close to our hearts. We are incredibly proud of all our members and are impressed with all the imaginative and creative ways in which they have raised money for Pharmacist Support throughout the year. We are looking forward to continuing our efforts for Pharmacist Support in 2017 and beyond!”
Presenting the award on the night was Mandeep Mudhar and Emma Charlesworth of Numark – our drinks sponsors for the evening. “Numark is delighted to back Pharmacist Support and their Hero Awards in acknowledging the ordinary pharmacists who make extraordinary efforts to support their fellow pharmacists, former pharmacists, pre-registration trainees and pharmacy students in times of need.”
