A Decade of Dedication: Welcoming New Leadership

As we bid farewell to 2023, we mark the conclusion of a remarkable era with the end of Anita Cawley's 10-year term on the Pharmacist Support charity Board of Trustees.

A decade of outstanding support and leadership

Anita Cawley has been an invaluable asset to the organisation, having served as an interim Chair, Vice Chair, and Chair of the Staffing and Remuneration Subcommittee.

Under our Articles, Trustees can serve a maximum of three terms, ensuring a dynamic and ever-evolving board. Anita’s dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to our cause have left an indelible mark on the charity’s journey.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Anita for her outstanding support, leadership, and tireless efforts over the past decade. While she concludes her term as a Trustee, we are delighted to share that Anita will remain an essential part of our team as a non-Trustee member of the Staffing and Remuneration Subcommittee for the next twelve months.

Also stepping down from the board at the end of 2023 following 6 years as a Trustee, and more recently Chair of the Finance Subcommittee, was Paul Johnson. Paul has been a pillar of support and instrumental in the charity’s exciting development. We extend our sincere gratitude to Paul for his dedication and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

Welcoming New Leadership: Mark Sweeney as Vice Chair

Simultaneously, we are thrilled to announce the appointment of Mark Sweeney as the new Vice Chair of the Board. Mark, an experienced pharmacist and Independent Prescriber, brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the role. His expertise extends to the treatment of addiction, anxiety, and depression.
