The National Association of Women Pharmacists (NAWP) aims to enable all women pharmacists to realise their full potential and raise their profile by being educationally, socially and politically active. Membership is open to anyone academically qualified in pharmacy, male or female, including registered, retired and off-register individuals. The NAWP’s activities include contributing to debate within the profession and healthcare, representing pharmacy amongst women’s organisations, addressing career and continuing professional development (CPD) issues, providing networking and fellowship opportunities and examining women’s healthcare issues. NAWP can help pharmacists returning or moving to community practice by provision of low level continuing support and introduction to work opportunities with sympathetic employers across the UK. The organisation also offers a mentoring scheme, CPD opportunities and the chance to be involved in small, novel projects.
