Dutch Courage!
We're excited to have another team of enthusiastic fundraising pharmacy cyclists on the road & this time they're Amsterdam bound.
Getting outdoors is great for your wellbeing. There have been many studies to show that getting up and about outdoors not only improves your physical but also your mental health. The sights, sounds, smells – the fresh air all contribute to lifting you up.
So what’s the best way to enjoy the outdoors you ask? Why cycling of course! Not only is it great physical exercise but it’s low-impact, so much easier on your knees than running.
The Challenge
This year we’re thrilled to have another team of enthusiastic cyclists from Pharmacist Cooperative who are planning to cycle from London to Amsterdam in aid of Pharmacist Support and Shelter on the 24th to the 26th August.
The two day trip begins with an 80 mile journey from London through the Essex countryside to the port town of Harwich. From there the team will take the ferry across to the Hook of Holland, where it will be a 52 mile ride across to their final destination – the picturesque city of Amsterdam!
The Cyclists
The organiser of our international challenge and keen cyclist Siddiqur of the Pharmacist Cooperative said:
“Pharmacist Support is an organisation that works with our ethos. They have been supporting Pharmacists in their times of need since 1841. With more and more Pharmacy cutbacks, workplace pressure increases, salary drops and staff shortages, the charity is needed now more than ever. Together we hope to raise lots of money and awareness of this fantastic independent charity and the need to improve and preserve Pharmacist’s wellbeing, so that we may continue to serve our patients well with their healthcare needs in the UK.”
If you would like to support the team and make a donation you will find their fundraising pages here.
