Volunteers’ Week 2026: with gratitude, pride and an invitation

This Volunteers Week, see how we are celebrating and what opportunities we have available.

We are deeply grateful to our volunteers every single day, but Volunteers’ Week, beginning on 1st June 2026, gives us a special opportunity to pause and say thank you properly and wholeheartedly.

As a small charity, we simply could not do what we do without our volunteers. They are not an addition to our work; they are an extension of us. Through their generosity, compassion and commitment, we are able to reach far more members of our pharmacy family than our core team ever could alone. To every volunteer who gives their time, energy and care so freely: thank you. We truly appreciate all that you do.

Our Listening Friends

Our Listening Friends are one of the cornerstones of our support services, and this year the service proudly celebrates its 30th anniversary. All Listening Friends are current or retired pharmacists who understand first-hand the realities and pressures of pharmacy life. Specially trained to provide empathic, nonjudgemental and confidential support, they give up their time generously to listen to those experiencing stress from work or personal challenges—helping callers feel heard, supported and less alone, and often enabling them to find a way forward.

Our Student Ambassadors

Our Student Ambassadors are our eyes and ears on the ground at pharmacy schools across the country. They play a vital role in sharing the message that support is available from day one of a student’s pharmacy journey. They tell us what they are seeing and experiencing so we can tailor our support, while also hosting events, fundraising and raising awareness through social media to ensure we have a meaningful presence on campus.

Our Charity Ambassadors

We are incredibly thankful for our longstanding Charity Ambassadors, who help extend our outreach into pharmacy communities, professional groups and regions across the GB. Their passion for raising awareness and funds ensures that more pharmacists understand the support available to them.

Our Trustees

Our trustees give their time, expertise and leadership to guide the charity responsibly and sustainably. Meeting regularly through board and subcommittee meetings, they ensure good governance, legal compliance and that our resources are used to provide the greatest benefit to the pharmacy community.

If you’ve ever wondered how you could give back, support your peers or be part of something meaningful, now is the perfect time to get involved. Our volunteers are the heart of our charity—and we would love to welcome more caring, committed people into our team.

This Volunteers’ Week, we celebrate you—and invite others to join us.
