In April, the Pharmacist Support team were delighted to attend the 84th Annual Conference and Awards Evening of the British Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (BPSA) in Nottingham.

During the conference, we delivered an interactive session exploring student wellbeing, the pressures of pharmacy training, and the support available to help navigate it. We also hosted an information stand alongside our Student Ambassador, Mariam, engaging with attendees throughout the day and sharing with them more about the work we do.

That same evening, we were delighted to attend the BPSA Awards, where we had the pleasure of presenting the Student Wellbeing Champion of the Year Award (add link) to Daniel Tadros, recognising his outstanding contribution to supporting student wellbeing. The event also saw an incredible £200 raised through a raffle, thanks to the generosity of attendees – a fantastic contribution that will go towards supporting our work.

Reflecting on the day, Kate said:

“Everyone made us feel so welcome and supported, and there was a real sense of enthusiasm and engagement with the work we do to support and champion the wellbeing of our pharmacy family. What really stayed with us were the conversations throughout the day. We spoke to students who had personally accessed our support — or knew someone who had — and hearing first-hand the difference it had made was incredibly moving. Those moments really reinforced why our work matters so much.”

Cassie added:

“I would like to echo Kate’s sentiments regarding how amazing the day was. The level of warmth, support and genuine appreciation for Pharmacist Support and the work we do was so lovely to witness, and it really reminded us just how valued we are across the profession. We both came away feeling really proud to be part of it all.”

We would like to thank the British Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (BPSA), for hosting such a fantastic event. Pharmacist Support has been working with the BPSA for many years with the shared aim of supporting pharmacy students throughout their studies and introducing our charity at the start of their pharmacy journeys.
