Scottish Pharmacy Awards raises £1,718 for our pharmacy family!

Thank you to our partners, PharmacyShows.co.uk, and the generosity of everyone who attended the awards.

Move over MET Gala, the Scottish Pharmacy Awards are in town!

On the 25th April, we were delighted to attend the prestigious awards, hosted by our partners PharmacyShows.co.uk at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. The event brings together pharmacy professionals from across Scotland to celebrate those who go above and beyond every single day, and with six awards in categories such as ‘Pharmacist of the Year’ and ‘Commitment to Health and Wellbeing’, the annual event is billed as ‘Scotland’s night to celebrate excellence, kindness, collaboration and the boundless spirit of pharmacy.’ And what a celebration it was! Our Marketing and Communications Senior Manager, Kate Westbrook, and Central Support Officer, Cassie Anderson, who were there to represent the charity, described the evening as a truly inspiring occasion. From recognising outstanding achievements to hearing the personal stories behind the nominations, the event highlighted not only the dedication of individuals and teams across Scottish pharmacy, but also the compassion and support that underpin the profession every day.

Turning generosity into life-changing support

Alongside the opportunity to share powerful stories of people who have benefited from our support, we were also able to raise vital funds during the evening. Thanks to a raffle featuring a range of prizes generously donated by PharmacyShows.co.uk, and the incredible generosity of everyone who attended the awards, we raised an amazing £1,718 for our confidential support services.

To put that impact into perspective, this funding will provide 32 life-changing counselling sessions for people in our pharmacy family who are experiencing severe mental and emotional difficulties such as depression, debilitating anxiety, workplace trauma, bereavement and domestic abuse.

Kate, our Marketing and Communications Senior Manager says of the event:

“It was a real privilege to attend the Scottish Pharmacy Awards. We’re extremely grateful to everyone who donated on the night and to the team at PharmacyShows.co.uk for their continued partnership and support. For 185 years, we’ve stood beside people working and studying in the pharmacist profession as they navigate through life’s difficult moments which you don’t see behind the pharmacy counter. The personal struggles. The silent stress. The burnout. The grief. The worry about making ends meet. That’s why Pharmacist Support exists and why support from individuals and organisations matter so much, as we work together to support the profession now, and into the future.”

Richard Stephenson, Managing Director of PharmacyShows.co.uk, adds:

“Community is everything in pharmacy, yet too many people are carrying enormous pressures behind the scenes while still turning up every day to care for others. We’re proud that the Scottish Pharmacy Awards can help shine a light on that reality and support the incredible work Pharmacist Support does across the profession. The generosity in the room was inspiring and we’re honoured to continue standing alongside a charity that makes such a meaningful difference to people when they need it most.”

We’d like to extend a special thanks to Richard and the whole PharmacyShows.co.uk team for their ongoing support of our charity. If you would also like to contribute to life-changing support for people across the profession who are struggling, please consider making a donation today.
