NPA backs Pharmacist Support with donation and wellbeing collaboration

We’re delighted to announce that the National Pharmacy Association (NPA) is backing Pharmacist Support with a donation of £1 per NPA member pharmacy, alongside a commitment to work with us to raise awareness of wellbeing

Working together to champion wellbeing across pharmacy

We’re delighted to announce that the National Pharmacy Association (NPA) is backing Pharmacist Support with a donation of £1 per NPA member pharmacy, alongside a commitment to work with us to raise awareness of wellbeing and the support available to those working across independent community pharmacy.

Announced on World Pharmacists Day, the donation will help us continue to provide free and confidential support to our pharmacy family, while our work with the NPA will help us reach more people across its membership with wellbeing information, resources and details of how Pharmacist Support can help.

As part of the collaboration, we’ll be working with the NPA to develop a co-branded digital information pack for its members and their teams. This will bring together information about the support available through Pharmacist Support, alongside further wellbeing information and resources.

Working together to support our pharmacy family

The commitment comes at a time when people across pharmacy continue to face significant pressures.

Community pharmacists and their teams are operating in an era of immense pressure – with many changes in pharmacy practice to contend with, as well as unbearable financial strain on many owners of independent pharmacies.

Our 2024 Workforce Wellbeing Survey found that 87% of respondents were at high risk of burnout, while 61% said they had considered leaving their current role or the pharmacy profession entirely in the previous year.

For Pharmacist Support, working with organisations across the sector is an important part of addressing these challenges. As well as providing vital funds that enable us to continue our work, support from organisations such as the NPA can help us raise awareness, extend our reach and ensure more people know where to turn when they need us.
