It’s been a busy autumn and start of winter as many of us across our profession headed out to various pharmacy events up and down the country. For us at Pharmacist Support, we’ve been delighted to attend various exhibitions, conferences and awards so that we can engage in meaningful conversations with our beneficiaries, volunteers, partners and dedicated charity supporters.
We kicked off the events season in September by presenting the Pharmacy Team Member of the Year at the C & D Awards. We then headed to the Welsh Pharmacy Awards to celebrate the successes of our pharmacy family in Wales, and to the RPS Wales conference and Scottish Pharmacy Trade Show to engage with pharmacists working to care for the public in Wales and Scotland respectively.
In October, we were delighted to attend the Pharmacy Business Awards for the first time as the event’s nominated charity, raising £1,932 to go towards funding our Support Services.
We also attended the Pharmacy Show and CPC North conferences and exhibitions where we had the great opportunity to engage with familiar and new faces about how we can support them and the whole pharmacy team, as well as deliver two successful sessions about burnout within our profession. We’d like to give particular thanks to the team at CPC London and CPC North for choosing us as their nominated charity at their events this year and donating £1 from every pharmacist ticket sold, culminating in an impressive £2,892 which will go towards helping even more people in our pharmacy family. The funds raised across all events – including corporate and individual donations – are essential for us to sustain and expand our Support Services, especially given the increased demand we’ve witnessed due to the challenges brought on by the ongoing financial crisis.
November was busy too for our team at Pharmacist Support as we headed to London and Scotland to attend the RPS Conference, Scottish Healthcare Awards and the Day Lewis Conference. We were pleased to present a session at the RPS Conference on Developing a Positive Workplace Culture, as well as round off the morning’s sessions with a breathing exercise. Across the day we also hosted a Wellbeing Zone, where we demonstrated the benefits of a growth mindset and supported participants with managing change and the unknown.
Having stands at all the events also provided us the opportunity to chat with people across our pharmacy family about our free and confidential support services, our ACTNow campaigns and our mental health and wellbeing training for pharmacy leaders.
We’d like to thank our partners at CPC London, CPC North, the Pharmacy Show, Kyron media, C&D, Pharmacy Business Awards and Day Lewis for choosing us as their nominated charity, and the team at the RPS for hosting us at their events. Charity partnerships such as these are vital to Pharmacist Support as they help us to raise awareness of our support services and give us a platform to connect with our pharmacy family on a broader scale.
Finally, we’d like to thank our ambassadors who supported us with these and other events throughout the year. Their dedication and enthusiasm at our exhibition stands, discussing our free and confidential Support Services and ways to engage with the charity have been invaluable.
