How corporate partnerships strengthen the profession

Our Chief Executive, Danielle Hunt, reflects on our partnerships journey and why collaboration across the sector is vital to strengthening pharmacy wellbeing and supporting the future of the profession.

Across the profession, pharmacists, trainee pharmacists and pharmacy students continue to face significant pressures, from increasing workloads and medicine shortages to financial worries and mental health challenges. Yet every day, they continue to provide extraordinary care and support to their patients and communities.

At Pharmacist Support, we believe those who care for others deserve support too.

Through our Support Services, we’re here to help people struggling with mental health, facing financial difficulties, living with addiction or simply needing someone to talk to.

But we can’t do this alone.

Corporate partnerships have become one of the most important ways we strengthen support for the profession. These collaborations are not simply about raising vital funds; they’re about organisations across pharmacy coming together with a shared commitment to wellbeing within the profession.

Wellbeing in pharmacy affects everyone. When pharmacy professionals are supported, they are better able to care for patients, support colleagues and remain committed to the profession. That’s why our partnerships are important.

Our partnerships send a clear message to the profession that wellbeing matters.

Over recent years, we’ve developed partnerships with many organisations from across the pharmacy sector to help extend the reach and impact of our charitable work. These partnerships help fund and sustain our core services, including counselling, peer support, financial assistance, addiction support, specialist advise and wellbeing support.

Together, we’ve also developed wellbeing awareness campaigns, educational resources, internal wellbeing support and campaigns and team fundraising initiatives that have reached thousands of people. In turn, this joint work helps to encourage open conversations around workplace and personal wellbeing and share information about the support available from Pharmacist Support.

Many people who contact Pharmacist Support tell us they discovered the charity because their employer, membership organisation or supplier shared information about us. That visibility can be life changing.

Behind every partnership is a human story.

The true impact of partnerships is ultimately personal. One pharmacist told us: “I genuinely don’t know if I would be sitting here if it wasn’t for the counselling sessions and financial support.” Another beneficiary described our support during addiction recovery as “lifesaving and life changing.” And a pharmacy student facing financial difficulties shared: “Iwouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that this bursary has altered the trajectory of my future and of course the futures of my two toddlers.”

These stories remind us that our charity support isn’t optional within the pharmacy profession. It’s essential. Behind every partnership is the opportunity to help someone stay in their career, protect their mental health, complete their studies or simply feel less alone. Our valued partners and their teams are now part of these stories and the impact that Pharmacist Support has across the lives of thousands of people working and studying in the pharmacy profession.

Strengthening the future of pharmacy.

Ahead of the release next month of our Annual Impact Report, which celebrates the charity’s achievements during 2025, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank our corporate partners for their continued commitment to creating meaningful impact in our profession. Alongside funding our services, they help advocate for stronger pharmacy wellbeing, help us to extend our reach within the sector and ensure pharmacy employees, members and customers have access to timely, direct support. Most importantly, they help strengthen the future of the profession. Demand for our services continues to grow, reflecting the increasing pressures facing pharmacy teams across healthcare. Corporate partnerships strengthen the profession because they recognise that the people delivering vital care need support too.

No single organisation can solve the challenges alone.

Looking ahead, we want to build partnerships that create even greater impact across the profession. By working together, we can continue expanding access to wellbeing support, reach more pharmacy students and professionals earlier and help foster a culture where seeking support is seen as a strength, not a stigma.

Together, we can help ensure that no one in pharmacy has to face challenging times alone.
