Ross has been a pharmacist for over 20 years. He currently writes articles for a number of pharmacy magazines and previously owned his own pharmacy, still doing the occasional locum.
Tell us a little about yourself
Pharmacist Support is now very visible and I noticed what other pharmacists were doing and wanted to do my bit too to raise money and support the charity.
What hero fundraising activities have you got planned?
I avoided alcohol for the whole of October and asked people to sponsor me. I enjoy a glass of wine at night, so while it might not seem much of a challenge, it was for me.
Why is the charity important to you?
Pharmacist Support is there for pharmacists and their families when they need help, so I appreciate the work they do for my colleagues who may be going through difficult times. While I haven’t yet used the services available, it’s comforting to know they are there if required.
Why do you think others should join the Pharmacist Support #175Hero Team?
We all know the pressures we face as pharmacists throughout our careers. Sometimes we all need a little extra help, support and guidance. Supporting the charity will help ensure that this is available if they need it themselves, but their efforts will also help many others when they needed it most.
