We have another runner in our midst! Ellen is a senior lecturer at the University of Manchester, where she teaches pharmacy law and pursues research in pharmacy practice, education and policy.
Why did you decide to become a 175 Hero?
I am proud to be a pharmacist and happy to support those who have difficulties at some point through their career. We all work under a lot of pressure, and it can all get a bit too much at times, and when that happens, it is good not to be without support.
What hero fundraising activities did you do?
I coordinated – and ran – the Manchester Pharmacy School’s team entry to the 2015 Santa Run at Old Trafford; there’s nothing quite like a green Santa suit! I also ran the Great Manchester 10km on the 22nd May, as part of 1,000 University runners – the purple wave!
Why is the charity important to you?
Pharmacist Support do a great job, supporting not just pharmacists but also pre-registration trainees and pharmacy students
Why do you think others should join the Pharmacist Support #175Hero Team?
Achieving things is always easier as part of a team, and personal goals work well for me, and I am now part of the community of 175 Heroes!
