December 2nd is Giving Tuesday – a global day of giving and an opportunity to come together to show the world why it’s good to give. Whether it’s through volunteering your time or donating to charity, Giving Tuesday is a call to action for everyone who wants to give something back.
Did you know Pharmacist Support relies entirely on donations to fund our services? Well this Giving Tuesday is an opportunity for you to do your bit – to gather your colleagues together, to have some fun and make a difference. To make things a little more festive we are giving it a tinsel theme and branding it Tinsel Tuesday!
We are encouraging pharmacists and pharmacy teams to get crafty with their tinsel and create a ‘Tinsel Shelfie’ and/or some ‘Tinsel Tuesday Tiffin’.
This is an opportunity to express the individuality of your pharmacy by decorating one (or more!) of your shelves with tinsel and taking a “shelfie” (a shelf “selfie” photo). Then, when your creations are complete – share them with us. You could also use this as a marketing opportunity to promote products, services or health messages for the festive season.
But Tinsel Tuesday is not only about the ‘shelfie’ – oh no – how about digging out one of your favourite tiffin recipes and making some delicious ‘Tinsel Tuesday Tiffin’. You could sell this to your work colleagues or to family and friends to raise funds for the charity. We’ve been trialing some recipes of our own:
To get involved post a photo of your #TinselTuesdayTiffin or your #TinselShelfie with the following text giving code: “Text PHAR01 followed by your donation amount (eg £5) to 70070”on our Twitter or Facebook page or send it to us via email at email@example.com.
We are giving away prizes for the best ‘Tinsel Shelfie’ and to the best ‘Tinsel Tuesday Tiffin’ fundraiser.
Donations from cake sales or percentages of sales from the “shelfie” products are much appreciated and will enable us to help pharmacists and their families, former pharmacists and pharmacy students in need.
Thank you in advance for your support and do keep us posted on your #TinselTuesday activities!
