2017 may be winding down but our fundraisers & volunteers are as busy as ever!
Big #GoGreen4PS Thank You!
World Pharmacists Day (25th September 2017) saw us launch the second annual Pharmacist Support #GoGreen4PS campaign where pharmacy students, pre-reg trainees, pharmacists and retired pharmacists came together to celebrate all things Green in order to raise money for and awareness of the charity.
The team at Well Pharmacy hosted a truly mouth watering bake sale at their Head Office in Manchester raising an impressive £230! Students at De Montfort University donned their best green duds as did the all London LPF and C&D gang at their recent events. PS ambassador Paul Johnson ran the Lincoln Half Marathon raising a fantastic £280, fellow ambassador Babir Malik produced and sold fabulous fridge magnets and Joanna Domzal-Jamrol once again hand crafted some beautiful bracelets for sale. A big thanks to everyone who took part!
Red Carpet, Dancing, Masks & Glitter!
The #GivaPound Masquerade Ball took place at the Leeds Marriott Hotel on the 28th October. Organised as part of Dr Mahendra Patel’s #GivaPound campaign, the event was attended by over 160 guests who arrived in their finest gowns and were of course sporting an array of marvelous masks!
Guests enjoyed a champagne drinks reception, a 4 course dinner, a face painting and glitter station! MC for the evening Chris Bonsell kept the festivities moving and introduced the evenings entertainment from soul singer Lara Rose, bhangra dancers from Trishool Dance Academy as well as performances from PS Ambassadors Neera Goel and Babir Malik.
But the aim of the night was of course to raise money for Pharmacist Support and guests were able to show their support by entering the Golden Ticket Raffle, photo competition and auction. Prizes on the night included a Villa for 8 people in St Tropez donated by CIG Group, a villa in Goa, England v Brasil tickets at Wembley, a family portrait experience donated by MI&Co, a night’s stay at the Marriott Hotel, £150 Owen Scott Bespoke tailoring voucher, a hamper, signed hardback copies of AA Dhands latest novels Streets of Darkness and Girl Zero and luggage donated by BMW. In total the evening raised an impressive £2,772.94.
